Alex is a student lighting designer and programmer living near London in the UK. He has worked and designed for many styles of lighting projects including Theatre, Opera, Music, Dance, Exhibitions and Instrumental.

Alex has recently acquired a student version of WYSIWYG Perform from Cast Software which is proving to be a fantastic learning tool, helping to teach him how to plan, design, and realise professional lighting in a virtual world! [See 'Virtual Renderings' in the Gallery]

Last year he designed an example model of a truss architecture and lighting rig for a large UK tour that could be used on shows like 'Classical Spectacular', which features an amazing light and laser show set to popular classical music numbers.

He has also assisted international Lighting Designer Durham Marenghi on the London Eye New Year's Light and Firework Show at midnight on the River Thames - An event broadcast live by the BBC, as well as at Wembley Arena for the Dancing on Ice UK Tour where he spent some time with Durham's programmer Tim Routledge.

Alex takes a very professional yet enthusiastic view on lighting - believing that enjoying it is the key to having the creative flair. He is also very keen to learn and puts a lot of effort into securing up-to-date experience in the industry - theory only gets you so far after all!
